The lake was treated today for algae. The motors are still out for
repair. A new motor was purchased and Fred S. is rebuilding the system to function again.
June 16, 2010
The aerators on the lake are not working correctly. The motors are out for repair. Kent will turn the "bubblers" on again when the motors are in working condition.

First application of Pond Clear Plus (An safe enzyme that multiplies in the water) was put into the lake by Mary Frances. The lake is looking very clear with minimal spring bloom.
November 2009
The lake had its clearest year ever reported. Looking forward to 2010.
July 3, 2009
There was some green bloom on the beaches, Mary put some enzyme in the lake in the AM. The lake should look amazing for the 4th!

2 more bottles of product were purchased to handle the extra water volume in the ditch "creek" next to the Browns house. This area was not calculated into the first estimate. It was found that the green bloom and film originates here and near Hewes beach. In the AM mary put in some of the product since there was a little bit of green bloom and film on the lake. This is amazing really because we have had no surface algae--nothing to rake all season--even with all this 90 degree heat. Other lakes in the area are covered in algae. Ours usually blooms up during the heat---not this year! Ours looks beautiful, clear and cleaner. Swimming is great and the fish are everywhere! Our rakes must be sad missing us. Poor, Poor rakes.

There is some green bloom and film on some of the beaches (Near Browns Ditch).
Otherwise the rest of the lake looks really clear still. The past few weeks have really heated up, so Summer is on its way. Mary called the "Pond Clear Plus" company and they said that this bloom has been seen in many lakes due to the change in weather and that the lakes are cycling naturally. If we do not see the enzymes multipy fast enough to take care of this new growth in 3-4 days, he will ship us more enzymes. At that time Mary and I will put in another application.
All in all the lake has never looked better and the kids are out swimming and enjoying it already.

Second Application of the other half of the Pond Clear Plus added to the lake today. The lake continues to look beautiful as the enzymes multiply and eat up all the weeds, algae, and sludge. Next, we will need to clean and move the aerators and raft.

One week after the first application of Pond Clear Plus, and the lake looks amazing! All around the lake it is clear and you can see the bottom of the lake at least 10 feet out on the shore.
April 21, 2009
Already seeing signs of the lake looking clearer. The aglae and weeds that were heavy on the shore line is now dying off.
April 18, 2009
First application of Pond Clear Plus (An safe enzyme that multiplies in the water) was put into the lake by Mary Frances and Jamie Powers. Per instructions the treatment process is to put 1/2 the Pond Clear Plus on the shore, on the opposite end of the spilway. 10 days later you add the other 1/2, as long as you have not had a lot of rain--then you wait a while until the lake lowers. After the second application (1/2 dose each time) this should be all we need to do for the year to control weeds, algae and sludge. We may need to add blue dye-- if the lake gets too clear.

Mike Behrens turned on the aerators for the lake.
